Routine Podiatry
(40 mins)
A comprehensive foot treatment including nail cutting and clearing, hard skin and corn removal as well as providing advice or devices that may be needed. Treatment is finished with a foot rub to moisturise the feet and stimulate the circulation.
New Patients
(50 mins)
New patient appointments take a bit longer and will have a full foot health check. You will also be required to fill in a form with contact details, any necessary medical information and sign a consent form.
Corn and Callous Removal
Corns and callous are painful hard areas of skin which occur on or between the toes or on the soles of the feet. They are a result of mechanical stress caused by walking or from footwear rubbing. They are removed using a scalpel and/or a drill to buff them away this can all be done during a routine appointment.
Verruca Treatment
Verrucae are rough areas of skin caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) they may occur anywhere on the foot. They can sometimes be uncomfortable or even painful to walk on. Regular treatment using targeted caustics can be used to gradually penetrate and kill off the verruca cells. Please make an appointment to discuss the best treatment option for you.
Ingrown Toenails
A very painful condition when a toenail irritates or even punctures the flesh at the side of the nail. Treatment can be by regular maintenance or if necessary, using a nail surgery procedure to perform a partial or full nail avulsion to provide a more long-term solution. Fungal Nail Infection
This is a common condition where the nail bed becomes infected with a fungus or candida. It can be stubborn to resolve, however, Clearanail is a simple innovative treatment which involves using a computerised machine to gently produce tiny holes 0.4mm in the nail plate.
Clearanail is based upon Controlled Micro Penetration (cmp). It is fast, safe and effective, the holes allow the anti-fungal treatment to penetrate directly where the fungal infection is deep within the nail plate. The infection is treated safely and simply using a simple over the counter anti-fungal spray.
Diabetic Foot Care
Looking after your feet is especially important if you have Diabetes. It is wise to regularly check your feet for areas of hard skin where there is excessive pressure or friction. It is essential to have your feet screened to check the general health and circulation as well as the sensation as this can potentially be affected and mean you may not be aware of an cuts or injuries. Toenail Reconstruction
This is an aesthetic toenail correction which can enhance the appearance of discoloured or damaged toenails. It is a simple and painless process using a fungal-resistant resin to create a natural looking veneer.
